(Harford County, MD – April 26, 2009) – Harford County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested Mark A. Snyder, 37, of the 800 block of Dellwood Drive, Fallston, MD for a shooting spree and burglary which occurred early this morning.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. deputies responded to the area of the 3800 block of Bay Road, Street, MD for shots fired. Investigations revealed that Mark Snyder went to a home in the 3800 block of Bay Road, Street, MD and fired several shots into the house before he forcibly entered the residence. The family was not home at the time of the incident.
Hearing the shots, a concerned neighbor also drove to the residence where he observed a black truck in the driveway and Snyder walking out of the home. The neighbor knew that Snyder did not live there and immediately left with Snyder following close by. The neighbor then pulled into his residence, turned the vehicle lights off, and remained in his vehicle. Moments later Snyder arrived, exited his truck, and walked towards the neighbor’s residence. The neighbor then turned his vehicle back on and quickly left the area. At this time, Snyder fired an unknown amount of shots towards the neighbor’s vehicle and residence and then pursued the neighbor. The neighbor was able to flee from Snyder and met deputies back at his residence a short time later.
At approximately 3:05 a.m., deputies received another call for shots fired into a residence in the 400 block of Darlington Road, Havre De Grace, MD. The male resident was asleep on his couch when he heard a loud vehicle outside his residence. His wife also awoke and looked outside where she was able to see Snyder outside. Snyder then fired ten to twelve rounds into their home before fleeing.
Later in the morning deputies located Snyder at his residence where he was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Harford County Detention Center. Deputies recovered a 9mm handgun and a shotgun which were used in these incidents.
Further investigation determined that Snyder is a former employee of the homeowner on Darlington Road. It is unknown at this time what provoked the attacks. Deputies are continuing the investigation.
Snyder was charged with the following: two counts of attempted 1st degree murder; burglary in the 1st degree; attempted assault in the 1st degree; assault in the 2nd degree; three counts of reckless endangerment; three counts malicious destruction of property over $500; using a handgun in the commission of a felony; and, carrying and transporting a handgun.

This is not his first run in with the law. In fact he has already been charged with attempted first degree in 2009.
