From the HCC sports desk:
COLORA, Md.—Sophomore Brian Six (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) scored on a penalty kick in the 41st minute as the Harford men’s soccer team downed Cecil, 1-0, on Wednesday afternoon at West Nottingham Academy.
The Seahawks (0-4, 0-3 MDJUCO) incurred a handball penalty that awarded the Fighting Owls (2-2-1, 2-0-1 MDJUCO) a PK, which Six fired past the keeper’s right side to notch the eventual game-winner.
The Harford offense had plenty of opportunities, firing 20 shots in the 90:00 with seven of them on goal and also tallied six corners to Cecil’s three.
Sophomore Taylor Dize (Bel Air, Md./Salem Christian) went the distance between the posts, corralling six saves, while his Cecil counterpart totaled seven.
The Fighting Owls continue with the second game of their five-game roadstand on Friday as they travel to CCBC-Catonsville for a 5:00 p.m. matchup.
