Bel Air Downtown Alliance Launches 9th Annual Outdoor Movies at Shamrock Park on June 11

BEL AIR, MD – April 1, 2010 – The snowy winter season is becoming a distant memory and the warm embrace of spring has captured our thoughts. Before long, summer will be here and our daily lives will be filled with a great number of outdoor activities from neighborhood cookouts to family vacations. For many families in Bel Air, MD summer also means enjoying movies under the stars. The Bel Air Downtown Alliance is pleased to announce the return of the “Outdoor Movies at Shamrock Park”.

This year marks the 9th anniversary of the “Outdoor Movies at Shamrock”. It is the longest running event series promoted by the Bel Air Downtown Alliance and it is certainly a family favorite. The “Outdoor Movies at Shamrock Park” will start on Friday, June 11th and continue every other week until Friday, August 20th. The festivities start at 7:00 p.m. with pre-movie entertainment provided by the Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission and the movies start at sunset. The Bel Air Downtown Alliance has been fortunate enough over the past eight years to welcome a great number of families to Shamrock Park to enjoy the movies. Many of the moviegoers started to attend when they were just starting out as a family and have grown up with us over the years. The “Outdoor Movies at Shamrock Park” is a wonderful “feel good” series of events that allow the local community to experience something very unique and special in Downtown Bel Air – the joy of a relaxing evening of family-friendly entertainment with their neighbors.

So grab your kids, pack up the blankets, and head over to the “Outdoor Movies at Shamrock Park”. Admission is free. It wouldn’t be the movies without popcorn, which is provided by the Bel Air Downtown Alliance for a small $1.00 donation.
