From the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County:
Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County is pleased to announce the appointment of six new members to its board of directors. Quynh Budzynski, Bruce Clark, Nicole Funk, Bridgette Johnson, Brigitte Peters and Todd Unger were approved at the June 2010 board meeting.
Senior Vice President Nicole Funk leads Booz Allen Hamilton’s efforts in support of U.S. Defense, including senior clients in the Department of the Army. Funk’s numerous client engagements include supporting organizations involved in government research development and engineering. Additionally, she serves as Director of the Aberdeen Army Alliance, Executive Board of the Greater Harford Committee and advisory board members of the Higher Education Conference Center among others. Nicole Funk has been married to Tim Funk for 18 years and has two children, Matthew (9) and Kaitlyn (6) and resides in Bel Air.
Quyuh Budzynski is vice president of sales for Metro Office Solutions in Belcamp. Budzynski rejoins the board after a several year hiatus. She is alsoactively involved in the USO, a member of the Federal Real Property Association and past board member of Harford County Chamber of Commerce.
Bridgette Johnson is a Business Development Associate with the Harford County Office of Economic Development. In her position Bridgette’s duties include supporting programs and services to help foster business retention while simultaneously supporting growth and investment in attracting businesses to Harford County. Bridgette was born and raised in Havre de Grace but left after completing high school when she joined the military. As a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and International Relations she decided to pursue a graduate degree at the University of Maryland College Park where she received her Master’s in Planning. Bridgette is a 2006 graduate of Harford Leadership Academy and currently is a member of the board of directors. Bridgette resides in Abingdon with her husband and three daughters.
Bruce Clarke is Executive Chef and Owner of Laurrapin Grille in Havre de Grace. Over the years, Bruce has worked closely many community organizations including the Boys and Girls Club in support of their efforts. He currently serves on the Upper Chesapeake Harford Hospice Regatta Planning Committee helping raise over $76,000 for hospice care in Harford County this year. He was recognized as a 2009 Unsung Hero by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Maryland Chapter. Bruce and his wife, Sherifa, have lived and worked in Havre de Grace for the past seven years.
Brigitte Peters has been with the City of Havre de Grace, Office of Marketing and Tourism for 5 years. As manager, Brigitte oversees the assimilation, organization and communication of tourism-related information, as well as issues to the organization, to the business community and to the public. She has recently been appointed by to serve on the Harford Cable Network Advisory Board and also maintains membership with Harford County and Havre de Grace Chamber of Commerce. Brigitte began her love of community, history and heritage tourism in Ligonier, Pennsylvania where she was born and raised. She has been community involved volunteering her time to the Aberdeen Swim club, Meadowvale PTA, Havre de Grace Lions, and to the Havre de Grace Main Street, Inc.
Todd Unger,an Annapolis native, graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from Frostburg State University in 1992. As President of Natty Boh Gear since 2004, he is accountable for all aspects of his business, including brand development, marketing and sales. Todd is an avid sports fan who enjoys attending hockey, baseball and football games regularly. He and his wife, Shawn, reside in the Towson area with their two dogs, Georgia and Clover.
