Tamara W. Zavislan, executive director Community Foundation of Harford County, has been elected to the board of directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Maryland Chapter, for a one-year term starting January 1.
In her role on the board, Ms. Zavislan will serve as roundtables chair. She will coordinate with the five roundtable facilitators (major gifts, small shop, annual giving, health care philanthropy and management) and serve as a liaison for the facilitators to the board.
Ms. Zavislan has been involved in nonprofit management and fundraising for more than 25 years. She is also a member of AFP Maryland’s Small Shop Fundraiser Roundtable and serves on the steering committee for the Susquehanna Professional Association of Nonprofits.
“It’s an honor to serve on the board of my professional association,” Ms. Zavislan said. “AFP, through its excellent programs and services, has given me so much over the years. I am excited to be able to give back.”
As executive director of Community Foundation of Harford County, Ms. Zavislan works with individuals, families and businesses to leave a legacy to benefit the causes they care about. Charitable gifts are used to make Harford County stronger through grant-making to local nonprofits and through scholarships. CFHC is one of 14 community foundations in Maryland and one of 700 across the country.
