A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest Saturday night in the 200 block of Edmund Street in Aberdeen.
Just before 8 p.m. Saturday, the victim had gone into possible cardiac arrest from the stab wound.
A Maryland State Police medevac helicopter had been called to the scene, but was later cancelled as the victim was transported to Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace in “very serious condition,” according to police.
Sgt. Fred Budnick of the Aberdeen Police Department said police were still active at the scene looking for “a white male, a black male, and two females.”
Check back with The Dagger for more information as it becomes available.

I remember a couple years ago when the police were all over Edmund Street. I guess now they just sit back and wiat for a crime to happen. Can’t help but think this wouldn;t have happened back then.
sandi says
yes, let’s blame the police cause of course they cause all crime since they arn’t everywhere all the time…
Just because “a couple of years ago” they were on Edmund St. means that they should have seen this coming..good logic..you should totally be a detective.
Jerry says
“Old School” it is my understanding that this was an isolated incident and that it took place on the property of the juvenile’s home. Further, the other incident you are speaking about occurred on Ford and Pine Street. To the family and friends of the 16y/o, Lord be with you, and God Bless You. What has this world come to, senseless violence.

The victim is deceased. He was set to enter a MD National Guard program for teens, today. God bless the family during this horrible time. I sincerely hope the offenders are caught and dealt with expediently.

So says
Sandi-
Well said, big mouth. Stay to your west-end problems and ask your husband to patrol the trouble spots a little more like the police use to. You know, when they could actually do police work.
Wow says
I thought this story was about the tradegy of a 16 year old being stabbed and killed. Maybe you should think about that instead of trying to blame the police for everything. Shame on you.
So says
No WOW, that story would be here: 16-Year-Old Boy Dies From Wounds Suffered in Aberdeen Stabbing:

And yes I believe that if the police were as visible as they used to be in the Edmund Street area (or in Aberdeen in general) that there would have been a slight chance that the recent presence of a police car may have detered the person involved in this from stabbing this young man. But of course I guess any resemblance of crime prevention left when they kicked Randy Rudy out. I guess the next thing Sandi will say is that it’s ok for the police to sleep on the rear parking lot too.
What ever happened to the proactive things the police used to do? Especially in the Edmund Street area. We use to see them all the time. It must be true that they want Rudy to leave so they wouldn’t have to do anything. Because now, there not doing half the things they use to do that really made a difference.

“SO”, grow up. If you are so concerned with APD and what is going on, join their ranks or speak with a few of the F.O.P. members. I am sure they will enlighten you.
Dyslex says
Hey “Jerry” aren’t you one of them?
Jerry says
“Dyslex”, no.
So says
“Jerry” is most likely one of the Aberdeen Cops. I know Sandi’s husband is and she routinely jumps on here to blast anyone who may have an opinion. Then, a couple Cops will jump on too.
Any way, its a shame this young man was murdered and my prayers go out to his family. I couldn’t imagine my child being killed. I would loose my mind.
But one can’t help to think that if we had the patrols in the Edmund Street area like we use to, if maybe this could have been prevented. And yes, the cops do sleep on their back parking lot. I have seen it myself when I pulled into the back of the fire house in the middle of the night. But I guess its more important for Sandi and Jerry to condone the lack of attention us tax payers receive than to admit our Police Department has gone down hill.
Jerry says
“So”, not at all. As for the rest of your comments, I will leave that alone because you have turned this nicely written artcile into a police bashing. Maybe we as a society need to focus on rasing our children with respect and to teach our children to treat others as they would want to be treated. That’s the comments that should be presented.
native says
Does anyone have an update on the investigation? It sounds like there are some APD insiders here.

This is ridculous for you people to blame APD for this. Its impossible to see everything even with a constant Patrol. Visit Edmonson Ave, ( west Baltimore ) and youll see a cop car pass EVERY corner atleast EVERY five minutes. But yet the crime is still there and on the rise. Point is APD is n ot a group of Supermen and women, Not everything can be seen. This event was totally isolated and probably wont happen again. How many murders are there on average in Aberdeen per yr ? 1, maybe 2? if that.Seems to me there doing a hell of a job. Its a shame that there are ADULTS here who actually can blame APD
