Del. Impallaria: Wind Energy, Gay Marriage, Illegal Aliens, Septic Systems, Looming State Bankruptcy

From the office of Del. Rick Impallaria:

Annapolis Update – February 17, 2011

I’m sorry that I haven’t gotten an update out to you sooner. I was hoping that there would be some good news about the General Assembly. Unfortunately, there is none. With the re-election of Martin O’Malley and with Barack Obama in the Presidency, Maryland is fast becoming the leader in pushing Pres. Obama’s plans through on the local level.

What are the issues which are important to the Democrat-controlled General Assembly?

Major investment in wind energy. To you, the consumer, this means just one thing — higher energy costs. There are no plans or movement to build a third reactor at Calvert Cliffs, which would produce more energy than all the windmills on the east coasts of the United States and Canada at a cheaper cost and in a more environmentally safe manner.

Gay marriage. It appears that thousands of years of accepted traditions and biology will shortly be overturned by this General Assembly, which is more left-wing than any I’ve seen in the past 8 years.

Illegal aliens. It seems they will get in-state tuition, the right to collect unemployment compensation and workman’s compensation, plus a host of other benefits. Gov. O’Malley cannot wait to sign these bills into law.

Crime. Martin O’Malley and Doug Gansler are vying with each other about who will be king of saving the Chesapeake Bay. In the State of the State speech, the Gov. told us who the leading criminals are — all of us who live in rural areas and have septic systems, and those peiple who work to one day have the American dream, a home of their own. If Martin and Doug have their way, we will all be living in apartments in Baltimore City, which in their eyes is just punishment for “the largest polluters of the Chesapeake Bay” — homeowners with septic systems.

If/when any good news comes, I will be happy to report it to you, but I am not optimistic that there will be any. I do not support this Governor’s agenda, nor do I support going down the already failed road that California has taken. According to a bankruptcy law lawyer Maryland is rated as the 13th state closest to bankruptcy, and if this General Assembly has its way in the next four years, we may go off the charts, and probably bankrupt.

MOM is insane with this wind crap – we should have been into nuclear long ago. That’s one positive thing we could have learned from Europe – specifically France – You can have nuke plants quickly and safely. If politicians like MOM and BHO were serious about this countries economy they would man up to reality instead of trying to push their know it all arrogant agendas.

    Del. Impallaria,

Thanks for the update. Please keep us informed … we won’t get the truth from any other source. O’Malley and the rest of the democrats continue to intoxicate themselves with Obama cool-aid. By the way, will they be taxing Obama cool-aid (ten cents per drink)?

We will all pay the price for much of their rediculous legislation . . . it’s too bad that there is not a way to force only those who voted for O’Malley to pay the price and leave the rest of us alone so we can make ends meet. I hope more Marylander’s wake up and take note what these clowns are doing in Annapolis. The best thing for Maryland is to reduce the number of democrats in Annapolis, even the playing field, and cause gridlock. Gridlock is a good thing when you have nothing but bad legislation coming out of that place.

It provides a large voting block for democrats and keeps them in power in this state. Why else would they spend our tax dollars to subsidize illegals. It’s not for the goodness in their heart, it’s all about campaign donations and votes. Unfortunately, the minority group that is most adversely affected by illegals coming into this country by taking jobs away continue to vote for democrats.

I happen to believe it is motivated by doing the right thing, what you refer to as goodness of the heart. I am not sure how many campaign contributions and voters are garnered by the undocumenteds, but I don’t think it is as substantial as you assume it is.

What minority group do you believe is most affected by loss of jobs to the undocumenteds?

Don’t bet on it . . . there are goups who contribute sizable amounts to increase their numbers in this state. In regards to politicians, with few exceptions, it is all about staying in power and votes. Your liberal ideology will not pay the bills.

Thank you, Rob, for not bothering to answer my question. My liberal ideology is paying the bills right now in this state, and will continue to do so. While you advocate gridlock because you can’t get your way, like a 5 yr old stomping off because he can’t get his way, I will continue to advocate for what I believe to be right, and exercise my patriotic and moral mandate to look out for those less fortunate than me.

Agelique and Watcher, dispute one thing in the letter that will not cost the Maryland Tax payer adversely. The Democrat Party wants to subsidize non-citizens of the United States. If they want to help reduce the cost of education for US citizens like me. I instead will graduate with a huge debt of students loans in 2013. My first ten years of work will go to paying this debt back. Wind Power need vast infrastucture to generate energy, where one reactor can do more then these large wind fields.

But in a time when we need to start spending less as a State; Mr O’Malley and the Dem’s find new expenditures for us Citizens and State tax payers. Anelique and Watcher you and your fellow Dem’s can gladdly take on my tax burden if you like.

The reason we have problems today is elected official like Mr. Impallaria.

Mr. Impallaria if you are serious about cutting out the fat put in a bill to stop letting anyone over 60 go to the community colleges free! How do this help the economy and lower college costs? The purpose of the community colleges is not to entertain seniors! Seniors do not need an education to get a job – too late.

Illegal aliens who have graduated from Maryland public schools should get in-state tuition. When they graduate they will get jobs, pay taxes, social secutity, etc. They are not going to be shipped back to where their parents came from.

I am for the following because it will lower my taxes:

    1. Taxing the dead
    2. 40 cent tax on alcoholic drinks
    3. Hotel taxes
    4. Tobacco tax
    5. Gambling tax
    6. Speed and red light cameras

I get your point and I agree with you on all of it. Let us just make it simple. Lets get rid of the taxes you state. Here is what we could do to replace it. We would all work our forty hrs a week and the Gov’t could just give a stipend each month. The great thing about it FOGDOG is we could each talk to each other in the line for meat or toilet paper. We would all be one big happy family.

FYI, Del Imp., thousands of years of tradition may be being overturned with the gay marriage bill, but biology (which can not be overturned, of course)is being reaffirmed. Many traditions have been rightfully overturned in the past hundred years, I don’t need to list them for you. This is progress.

Tell me, how is same-sex marriage going to adversely affect your life, or anyone else’s in the state of Maryland? Being against marriage equality stems from pure bigotry.

And by the way, the slippery slope argument you’re using is a logical fallacy. Same-sex marriage involves two consenting adults. Unless farm animals somehow gain the ability to consent to a relationship in the future, I don’t think we’ll have to worry about zoophiliacs marrying their goats.

So, how do you and the others here feel about marriage between one man and multiple women, one woman and multiple men, several men, or several women, if all are consenting adults? Would you speak out in favor of that?

People are so quick to point out that marriage is not necessarily defined as being for people of opposite sexes, is it necessarily defined as being for only two people?

Only the very obtuse confuse pedophelia, beastiality and homosexuality. Educate yourself, Patrick. There is a whole world out here you probably don’t really understand. That being said, I am sure you and your goat would make a lovely, comparably functioning, couple.

Funny how he only tells half the story. This is why people hate politicians. There aren’t many good ones out there.

Mr. Patrick, Delegate Impallaria–the politician that he is– has expressed support for this legislation in several news stories. You can take my word for this, or I can post them here for you. Google Impallaria Hotel Tax and check out the Explore Harford story:

        Quote from the story:

        Chairman backs tax break

Sources told The Aegis that James and Harford Del. Rick Impallaria are behind the deal to give a 15-year tax break to Presbyterian Home and have told the county government and Aberdeen officials that in exchange, they will support giving the county and city authority to levy a room tax.

“This ties all things into one bill,” Impallaria, the Harford House Delegation chairman, said Monday afternoon. “It’s the smartest way to do it all in one bill.”

It’s pretty damning evidence. And I’m a republican. I’m just upset with RINO politicians like Impallaria. There are three good stories on his back-door deals.
