From John Paff, Chairman of the Bush River Community Council:
In January, Harford County Executive David Craig along with Councilwoman Mary Ann Lisanti announced that they have formed a new Community Council to serve the areas surrounding the Bush River. The Bush River Community Council (BRCC) will serve the communities of Belcamp, Perryman, Holly Woods, Long Bar Harbor, Otter Point and Abingdon (east of 95). An area that many of it’s residents feel is often overlooked within Harford County.
Due to a snow day in February, the BRCC will hold it’s first community meeting on March 21, 2011 from 6:30-8:30pm in the media center at Church Creek Elementary in Belcamp. The main objective of our first meeting will be to have an open discussion on each members vision for the Council. We hope that many of you who live in the Bush River area will join us for this, the most important meeting of the council. As this meeting will develop the footprint and foundation for the future of the council. In addition to this discussion, we will also have the Department of Planing and Zoning to discuss the county master plan, representatives from the Harford County Sheriff’s office to discuss their work in our community and what we can expect from their office at our monthly meetings, as well as, a member of the County Executives office.
The Bush River Community Councils main goal will be to serve as a central command center for information within our community. We will collect and share information with the community, as well as, receive community input on concerns and ideas, then share that information with our county leadership. We will also have members of the council assigned to areas of importance, such as education, transportation, planning & zoning and Parks & Rec. Who will then report back at our monthly council meetings. The BRCC will only be as successful as the members of our community who participate and with that I encourage all of you to attend and participate in our monthly meetings.
The council will meet the 3rd Monday of each month at Church Creek Elementary (4299 Church Creek Rd. Belcamp, MD 21017) from 6:30-8:30pm.

John Paff
Chairman
Bush River Community Council
Scumbag says
Wow, how did the Paff scumbag get appointed to this? Did he pledge his allegiance to Craig? Or is his connection the Mullis’ the impetus for this decision?
Will Parker says
John Paff is a community leader. He will be an awesome rep to the county gov’t. Scumbag, you have no idea what you are talking about plus you hide behind a fake name. You are a loser.
Lawrence R. Worthington says
Mr. Paff does this Community Council incluce the areas of Oak Landing and Harbor Oaks which is located along the Bush River. I have some issues regarding Flood insurance that needs to be addressed. I own property at 1000 Willow Bend Drive which is situated along the Bush River.
Edgewod Resident says
Lawrence R. Worthington,
Harbor Oaks is in Edgewood, so I would recommend attending the Edgewood Community Council meetings. They are held on the second Wednesday of every month at 7pm at the Edgewood Recreation Center located at 1980 Brookside Drive.
Scumbag,
What do the Mullis’ have to do with this? What beef do you have with them?
John Paff says
Mr. Worthington,
As “Edgewood Resident” stated you fall under the Edgewood Council, but just barely. Your best bet would be to meet with their council. I am sure their Chairman, Jansen Robinson, will take good care of you. If you would prefer to attend Bush River for any reason, feel free to join us and express your concerns.
Here is a link to the council maps. at the top of the page you can zoom in, if you do that you’ll be able to see the layout of the roads for better definition
