The Harford County Council will hold a public hearing Tuesday night to discuss the proposed Master Water & Sewer Plan – Spring 2011 Update. Among the many changes proposed in the update are the recommendations to provide public water and sewer service within three years to Prospect Green, a 96-townhouse community located on 21 acres, and Sandy Ridge, a 20-single family home development on 9 acres – both of which are located less than a half-mile south of Prospect Mill Road on Route 543 in Bel Air.
The county council will also hold public hearings on a bill which would create a Agricultural Land Preservation Tax Credit for owners of agriculturally-zoned land who donate their development rights or family conveyances and another bill which proposes to expand the boundaries of the Fallston Commercial Sewer Subdistrict to include new properties.
The public hearings begin at 7 p.m. in A.A. Roberty Building in Bel Air.
During its legislative session, which immediately follows the public hearings, the county council is expected to introduce a half-dozen bills, four of which appropriate funds from the General, Water and Sewer, Highways, and Solid Waste Funds; the fifth is the annual budget and appropriation ordinance; and the sixth is a power purchase agreement with Energy Answers.
The county council will also introduce a resolution entering into a lease agreement with Cingular Wireless.
Also Tuesday night, the county council will recognize Harford Living Treasures Donald & Betty Preston and consider county executive appointments to the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, Liquor Control Board, and Human Relations Commission.
