A male juvenile was arrested Wednesday for pulling a fire alarm at Patterson Mill High School, causing approximately 1,700 students to be evacuated during inclement weather, according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The student pulled the alarm at approximately 12:50 p.m., causing the evacuation and prompting members of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and Harford County Sheriff’s Office to respond to the scene.
The youth was charged with making a false fire alarm, and released to the custody of his parents, the State Fire Marshal’s Office said Thursday. School sanctions were also placed against the student.
