From the office of Harford County Councilman Jim McMahan:
There is a plethora of mis-information on the street regarding the property located between Rt 924, Plumtree, Bel Air South Parkway and Rt 24. Let me give you some facts. That 30 acre tract has been zoned B3 business for about 7 years. It was NOT recently zoned B3 by the county. An effort to re- zone the property to R4 in 2010 failed when the hearing examiner ruled not to change the zoning. In Harford County the County Council sits as the Zoning Appeals Board and when it came to appeal, citizens voiced opposition to the high density zoning R4 (Mixed-use) could have brought. The hearing examiner’s decision was upheld and the property stayed B3. The latest information is that Harford County and the State Highway Administration have given Walmart agents at least 20 different intersections to evaluate and come back to the county with a comprehensive traffic study. That is where the project stands. The Dagger has a comprehensive article by Cindy Mumby explaining the history of the current Walmart location and why they cannot expand there.

Enought is Enough says
It seems that District C Councilman Jim McMahan is supportive of the idea of the Wal Mart in his district since it seems he is trying to justify the location and saying it’s not my fault.
When is enough is enough?
