From Harford Community College:
Through May 15, the Hays-Heighe House at Harford Community College will showcase student projects. The students’ work has been incorporated into the Made by Hand exhibit panels and features their interpretation of the history and heritage of the House. Made by Hand, the inaugural exhibit at the House, explores the recent renovation and examines how the building was constructed and who built it.
Presentation boards from the College’s former Building Preservation and Restoration program are on display featuring exterior renovation techniques and interior construction such as lathing and fireplaces. Several board designs from Interior Design 203, Residential Interiors, were specifically designed for the Hays-Heighe House and feature a range of styles and design techniques.
The Hays-Heighe House at Harford Community College blends the modern and historic to connect the present with the past. This renovated 1808 structure is a place to learn about the College’s heritage through guided tours, exhibits, and displays. The building also hosts classes, workshops, meetings, and other special events that support the mission of the House as a living classroom.
The general public is welcome to visit the House on Tuesdays, 1-3 PM, and Fridays, 10 AM to noon.
