From the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office:
On April 25, 2010, a Harford County jury found Joshua Prince Freeman, 22, of Liberty Court, guilty of Kidnapping, Carjacking, Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Assault and Arson after three hours of deliberation.
Freeman was found guilty in connection with the kidnapping of twenty year old Kara Smithson of Pylesville on October 26, 2009. The evidence presented at trial was that one of the Freeman’s accomplices, who knew Smithson, lured her to a pre-determined area where the Freeman and two other males pushed her into the back seat, assaulted her, demanded money. Freeman was the driver of the car, and drove Smithson around Joppa along with his three accomplices where she was assaulted repeatedly. Smithson’s parents were called by one of the accomplices and money was demanded.
Smithson called out to her mother to call 911 and she was further assaulted. Freeman and his accomplices then pushed Smithson out of the moving car on Philadelphia Road where she ran to house in the area for help. The car was found approximately one hour later on the ball field at Prospect Mill Elementary School totally destroyed by fire.
The Maryland State Police, Bel Air Barrack, investigated the case. Sgt James DeCourcey and Cpl Justin Gross were the primary investigators. Deputy State’s Attorney Diana Brooks prosecuted the case. Sentencing for Freeman has not yet been scheduled. He is being held at the Harford County Detention Center without bond pending sentencing. He faces maximum sentences totaling 100 years.

I’d lay odds he gets out in less than 10. If it were my daughter I’d be waiting to kill him the day they release him… I’d be doing society a favor.
