The Harford County Department of Community Services Commission on Disabilities will be hosting a free training on the new Maryland Workforce Exchange on Thursday, May 26, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, at Aberdeen Workforce Center, 34 N. Philadelphia Boulevard in Aberdeen.
The training is designed for job developers and staff of service provider agencies who work with job seekers with disabilities. The training will focus on the new Maryland Workforce Exchange, an online job seeker/workforce services system specifically developed for job seekers, students, case managers, employers, training providers, workforce professionals, and others seeking benefits and services.
Attendees will learn how to help job seekers create and send resumes and cover letters to employers, assess their job skills, track their job search efforts, learn about services and benefits for which they may be eligible, use the email/message center to contact employers and case managers, clarify employment goals, and use other internet sites for useful information for job seekers.
Space is limited; registration and/or requests for disability-related accommodations are required by May 20 by calling the Harford County Disabilities Coordinator at 410-638- 3373 voice/tty or disability@harfordcountymd.gov.
The training is sponsored by the Harford County Commission on Disabilities’ Employment Committee.
