From Harford County Government:
(Bel Air, MD) – Nearly 80 individuals were recognized recently for their volunteer service at the seven activity centers around the county. Their volunteer work includes everything from working at the front desk, to helping in the kitchen, to staffing the library.
Harford County Executive David R. Craig and Director of Community Services Beth Hendrix gave remarks sharing their appreciation, and United States Senator Barbara Mikulski’s office presented a letter to the volunteers thanking them for all their hard work.
“Volunteer service is extremely important to our activity centers because our volunteers help supplement staff and add a valuable component to the centers,” said County Executive Craig. “Without these dedicated individuals, we would have gaps in service and wouldn’t be able to provide all that we are able to offer our citizens in terms of programs, events, and services.”
The recognition ceremony also included a presentation of certificates, lunch, and entertainment for the volunteers.
Currently, there are over 4,000 active members participating at the activity centers located in the county. The centers operated by the Office on Aging, a division within the Harford County Department of Community Services.
