From Harford County government:
Robert McMillan a five-year employee with the Department of Public Works, Division of Water & Sewer has been selected as the Employee of the Month for July. Robert was nominated by his Crew Chief from the Division of Water & Sewer, Tim Smith.
Recently Mr. McMillan went “above & beyond” to return money and paperwork left behind by a customer of the 7- 11 where he and Mr. Smith stopped for lunch. The crew chief pointed out paperwork on the counter thinking that it was Rob’s and didn’t want him to forget it. When they returned to their vehicle, Mr. McMillan noticed that it was not his paperwork or money. At first he thought he could redeposit the money in the ATM for the citizen but instead found the information needed to call up the owner to set up a time to meet and return the lost property.
In the nomination Mr. Smith states, “I would like to take this opportunity to compliment Rob McMillan for both his honesty and integrity. In this day and age where greed often overrides morals, it is gratifying to know that Harford County employees still maintain a high standard of conduct.”
Commenting on Robert McMillan’s selection as Employee of the Month for July, County Executive David R. Craig stated, “Robert’s actions exemplify a standard of excellence, integrity and distinguished service. Robert has a great career ahead of him with Harford County Government and we congratulate him on receiving this special recognition”.
