From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
(Edgewood, MD – March 4, 2012) On Saturday March 3, 2012 shortly before midnight, deputies responded to the 400 block of Meadowood Drive, Edgewood, MD 21040 in reference to a stabbing with multiple victims.
Upon arrival, deputies located a 19-year-old black male who had been stabbed multiple times in the torso region of his body. A second victim, a 22-year-old black male, who was also stabbed in his upper torso, was rendering aid to the first victim. While deputies were assisting the first two victims, a third stab victim, a 18 year old black male, approached deputies and medical personnel on scene. He also had been stabbed in the upper torso region of his body.
The victims shared with deputies that while walking from the local gas station in the 1700 block of Hanson Road towards a friend’s house in the Winsor Valley neighborhood, they heard a group of males call out to them, at which time they ran over and someone in the group began stabbing the victims. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.
While still on the scene, a fourth victim, a 17 year-old black male who suffered a minor cut to his arm, approached the deputies on scene and told deputies he received his injuries from an unknown group of black males who had fled the scene.
The first three victims were transported by ambulance to John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. The fourth victim was transported by ambulance to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.
The incident described does not appear to be a random act of violence. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
(UPDATE – March 4, 11 a.m.):
At approximately 3:30am on March 4, 2012, a fifth victim, a 21 year-old black male was located at Franklin Square Hospital with a stab wound to his lower torso. The victim told police that his injuries had occurred in the Edgewood area of Harford County. Investigators have determined that the victim’s injuries may be connected to the multiple stabbings that occurred in the 1600 block of Meadowood Court in Edgewood, MD shortly before midnight on March 3, 2012.
At this time, all five stabbing victims are reported to be in stable condition.
