Bel Air Agenda July 16: Public Hearing on Definition of Family; Community Legacy Grant; Bids and Contracts

The Bel Air Town Commissioners will hold a public hearing Monday night on a resolution which would amend the town’s development regulations to expand the definition of “family” to include those residing within a non-profit facility.

The town commissioners are also expected to introduce a resolution for a $200,000 Community Legacy Grant and accept the 2011 Harford County Annual Growth Report.

Also on the agenda, the town commissioners will present a proclamation of recognition to the Hickory Hornets and will vote on re-appointments to the Board of Appeals and Historic Preservation Commission.

The town commissioners will also vote on bids for the purchase of a “Speed Awareness Trailer” and a pick-up truck, a contract for the cleaning of Town Hall ducts, a contract for paving and site work, and will discuss culvert utility easements for Lanahan and the Plumtree Square Condominium Council.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in Bel Air Town Hall.

a. The Bel Air Downtown Alliance is sponsoring the following outdoor movies in Shamrock Park: “Despicable Me” on July 27th; “Cars 2” on August 3rd; and “Puss and Boots” on August 17th. Seating opens at 6 p.m. and the movie starts at dusk; free admission and popcorn.

b. The Summer Concert Series features: Chuck Baker Orchestra July 18th; Peabody Ragtime Ensemble July 22nd; Regents of Jazz Ensemble July 25th; and US Navy Concert Band July 29th. All concerts are held in Shamrock Park at 7 p.m., admission is free.
