From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
At approximately 10:20 pm, on Tuesday July 22, 2014 deputies responded to a call for a shooting in the 900 block of Pulaski Highway, in Joppa.
The victim, identified as Ryan Jay Kerrigan, age 28 of Bel Air, reported that he had left Stone House Tattoos, and was walking to his car, when he was accosted by two black males. He fought back and one suspect discharged a firearm, striking Kerrigan a single time in the arm.
Kerrigan was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview by Joppa Magnolia VFC with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspects were described as black males, one in a white shirt and one wearing a yellow and white shirt. They fled the area in an unknown vehicle.
Detectives are actively investigating. No further information at this time.
Marc A Eaton says
Has anyone told the gang members that crime is down along Rt 40 yet? I hope they attend the meeting.
Proud To Be A Liberal says
Once again DFC Eaton bashing the Sheriff. Since your such a crime advocate DFC Eaton maybe you should attend the meeting.
Gooter says
I didn’t see him bashing Bane (this time)?!?!
I saw it merely as a factual quote from the Crime Records as published, and touted, by the Sheriff in his attempt to show the people of Harford County that he is doing something about crime on the Rt. 40 corridor.
Geez, man…
Joppa Voter says
I’m glad the Sheriff provided statistics that say violent crime is on the decrease?? But we sure don’t feel any safer in our community !
word on the street says
Something don’ t Sound rigth with this, What time do the parlor close?
Pavel314 says
From the Stone House website, their hours are:
Tuesday: 12pm-10pmish
Gooter says
How does it not sound “RIGHT”? What if the victim worked at the establishment and had just finished cleaning / locking up for the night?
Maybe that is why he was jumped by vagrants of Route 40? They thought he had money on him?
The parlor “DOES” close a little later if there is still a paying customer on-site.
So, you were saying something about “not sounding right?”
Fact Finder says
Per Maryland Judiciary a Ryan Kerrigan has a 2007 theft conviction where it appears he may have stolen someone’s car and not returned it. He is also possibly involved in an active custody dispute and he has numerous traffic violation charges.
Concerned Teacher says
So true. It is always good to blame the victim for getting shot, not the shooter. Maybe we’ll find out the shooter dropped out of school and never learned that shooting someone was illegal. Then it totally won’t be his fault at all.
Fed up says
Or you can just blame the gun like our brain-trust in Annapolis. This is clearly a case of a guilty gun shooting someone…I guess we need more laws!
Be Sensible says
So you think he deserved to be shot… SMH…
Yup says
Clearly, he’s trying to link whatever custody issues the victim has going on, to a hit put on him by baby momma or something.
Whatever his motive, it is idiotic at best.
Gooter says
Yeah, a “hit” by the baby-momma. Jesus, the fact that people are blaming the victim here is unreal.
The guy got shot…who cares why! The fact is to degenerates jumped him and shot him in the arm.
My take is that the 2 Edgewoodian-Male subjects were juveniles. That way they can use the Hannah Sipel defense that “their mind was not fully developed; they were children who did not know that carrying a gun and shooting someone is wrong”.
youdontneedtoknow says
Ryans record is not the point of this situation. So lets be curtious and not blast his personal record on social media. Also for the record the business hours in a tattoo shop mean nothing especially when they have 20 dollar piercings and people wait all night
Hedley Lamarr says
Two Black males, say it ain’t so, this is to complicated for the HCSO, call the Baltimore County Police for help, the glorified meter maids aka state police are too busy writing tickets to get involved. Another thought is tell some biker clubs free tattoos if they bring these YO’s to biker justice, no mo issues with these Canadians.

H,
My first inclination were the Amish gangs sneaking across the border – seeing as how they drove the tat parlors out of Lancaster. They’ve been covering their buggy reflectors at night – being stealthy and all. But when I read it was just a shot in the arm, I knew the perps weren’t Amish – they’re into one shot one kill.
Democrates Smell Like Poop says
Anyone else get ambushed by Owe Malley’s Brown Shirts (aka State Police) last week at 95 & Mountain Road? The Brown Shirts were out at 7am writing tickets as people were trying to get to work. These guys were literally stopping cars as they rounded the turn from Mt. Rd to I95 and pulling them over.
These guys refuse to enforce immigration laws or target real criminals but someone not wearing a seat belt is the crime of the century.
Pathetic waste of resources, I would rather them sit and talk to each other for hours on end in the center of I95 like they usually do.
Check says
State/County/City Police have no Federal jurisdiction, hence, they do not enforce Federal Law, otherwise, our illegal immigration problems would be solved rather quickly with illegal residents being detained, arrested.
Democrats Smell Like Poop says
They can hold them as illegals for ICE but The State of Maryland refuses to enforce this and has instructed the police departments to do the same.
So you are right and wrong.
Yup says
Except that they can’t hold them. Check out Santos v Frederick County Commissioners.
Democrats Smell Like Poop says
They can’t hold them if they are not committing a crime according to the ruling.
So you are telling me that if an illegal is pulled over by the Maryland State Police for a seat belt violation they cannot be detained for immigration violations? Is the act of not wearing a seat belt a violation of Maryland law?
I guess the police have no right to verify this information.
Gooter says
Just an observation, but if you were wearing your seatbelt and following the speed limit, then perhaps you would not have been sto…err, sorry, “accosted”.
“Real Criminals”? Like the a55hole who does not buckle up, gets into an accident and dies (because he was in such a hurry to get to work). Leaves a wife, and 3.2 kids at home, and the wife sues the actual victim of the accident because the bread-winner of the family died…in an accident because he was not wearing his seatbelt.
Complain all you want – my bet is you were the one who was wrong.
Democrats Smell Like Poop says
I will start wearing a seat belt when the law enforcement starts enforcing immigration laws.
If they want to be selective about what laws they will enforce, then I will be selective about what laws I will follow too!
That is why I have a huge insurance policy so stay out of my car and my business.
My safety is not your concern unless you want to walk foot in my neighborhood at night.

D,
According to the National Motorists Association – when ranked by responsibility, cost to drive, enforcement tactics, regulations and legal protections – Maryland 4th worst.
Maryland isn’t a liberal state, it’s a big government state.
Ralph says
Maryland is a state that because of its demographics ends up with consistently liberal state representation and governor.
Not the Canucks says
Ralph,
I here ya! But I cannot connect the term liberal with a state that is so restrictive that it becomes oppressive. Liberal means more open, free and accepting. Does any of that sound like MD?
Being to the left today means directing the perks and power to those who are like-minded at the upper levels. It doesn’t mean tolerance for all – in fact, try giving a opinion that does not exactly fit the left’s orthodoxy: you are either a teabagger or a racist, or both.
What’s worse, a big government state like MD victimizes the very people that it claims to champion: teachers and minorities. the teachers are put in box by Politburo-like admins and the minorities are crammed in jail for minor drug offenses.
Ralph says
True. If Maryland could rid it’s self of two counties and one major city we could free ourselves of such nonsense.
Anthropologist says
Maryland demographics are a result of its cultural history. After America gained independence, middle-class people with initiative and imagination moved west to improve their lot in life. For Maryland, this left two groups, the moneyed aristocracy with political power, a group with no need to go west, and the lower class, the dregs of society, who were too timid to go west. Each group bred succeeding generations within itself, leaving a society of natural rulers and their inferior subjects, the situation we have today.
sranley says
Happened behind the building. Dark lot. Owners had made several attempt to get someone to fix the bulb in the street light to make the area not so dark. Darkness attracts dark.
Mr anonymous says
That place needs to be shut down second time this month something has happend their its nothing but a front come on HCSO do something useful and shut it down
Gooter says
How many times does something happen at Walmart or Target stores in the area? Should we shut down them, too?
LOL says
Minorities crammed in jail for “minor” drug offenses? Here’s a thought, don’t do anything illegal and you won’t go to jail. Most of these people “crammed ” into jail weren’t too bright to begin with.
The funny thing (I could see happening) is that more employers will require drug testing, and participate in random drug testing once marijuana is fully legal in the state.
Then we will have the next blame game, blame employers for not hiring dope smokers?
Until its “legalized” at the Federal level, maybe we can have a debate
Not the Canucks says
Anthropology,
The middle-class actually appeared with Henry Ford and his mass produced automobile. The folks who worked the mines, farms, garment sweatshops and eventually the steel mills east of the Ohio were not really timid nor where they the “dregs of society.”
Many Revolutionary War soldiers were given land west of Cumberland as a reward for their service – at that time that was the west and mapped as Indian Territory. At that time ‘west’ was a relative term. I think the Shawnee didn’t move to the Ohio river until the late 1800’s.
The real dependent society is relatively new to this country and fairly unheard of anytime anywhere. That is why it is laughable when people try to deny why this country is getting flooded with an underclass. Start handing everyone coming here a shovel and get them to build the border barrier and you will see the immigration grind to a halt.
