From Harford County Executive Candidate Barry Glassman:
BEL AIR, Md., (Oct. 16, 2014) – State Sen. Barry Glassman today named Cindy Mumby as communications adviser to his campaign for Harford County executive. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Mumby was a managing partner of the local news website The Dagger and co-host of “The Harford Edge”, a public affairs program on WAMD-AM radio and KHZTV.com.
Regarding the appointment, Sen. Glassman said, “Throughout my public service, I have been committed to open and effective communication with the citizens I represent. Congratulations Cindy! Barry, you could not have picked a better person!

Guess Cindy will be the next public affairs officer for HCG! Let the chicken dance around the appointed directors chairs begin. Didn’t even know that Glassman was running for office since he has taken no position on his raise or anything else for that matter in good old hazard county. But he is a politician and he probably knows better than to take any position on anything for fear that the TP and C4L would campaign against him which would be when hell freezes over. At least, he has said he is running for CE! I know there is a Democratic candidate somewhere at least on paper running for CE, but I swear I haven’t seen even a sign for his candidacy…

Then you must not get out much. His sheep signs are everywhere. And congrats to Cindy Mumby–she won’t be a sell-out. Nor is she a relative or “friend” or developer or political appointment. Good move for Harford County!
Concerned Teacher says
Sorry Mr. Bill, but you’re wrong on this. It’s Glassman who has the sheep signs, not the unnamed Democratic candidate (for the record, it’s Joseph Werner).
fish story says
Bill W,
They are all sellouts at one point or another specially the public affairs person as their job is to make the CE look good no matter what.
Mr. Moderate says
Incredible! Cindy Mumby’s Farewell statement to Dagger readers has received as of this moment sixteen comments–all positive in nature and not a one received anything but Thumbs Up responses.
Here’s hoping that readers continue to respond favorably to her work in the coming months and years, and that if her new job or boss requires her to violate her integrity, she will say goodbye and seek a position that allows her to retain her sense of ethics,
Reality Check says
“New generation of leadership.” Ha. He is controlled by Hockaday, just like this County Exec, and the last one and the one before that.
Blue baron says
If thats true and Hockoday is behind Glassman, then you can count on 4-8 more years on Easy Street for John Sullivan. (Cha-ching!) Hey, good “work” if you can get it I guess.
Herman D. says
Mr. Glassman is a northern Harford County native? Level is considered to be northern Harford? Hmmmmmm. Also, I see these Reillys running for office aren’t Harford natives. Non-natives should be disqualified from seeking elected office in fair Harford.
Bill says
No wonder she wants to leave this site after seven years of having to look at idiotic anonymous posts like these. At least with Glassman she’ll be a decent conscientious person.
bob chance says
An excellent selection.Harford will do well with this competent, unbiased, ethical individual to inform the citizens..
Miss Gulch says
We could really use a breath of fresh air in this county and someine who actually has integrity and an ethical base. I hope that when the new CE comes aboad, they will clean house with every single cabinet member.
