A 15-year-old girl was stabbed to death, and her mother and sister injured, in an incident in Edgewood Saturday night. Police are seeking a 21-year-old man in connection with the attack.
Police said the three were stabbed at a residence in the 100 block of Reider Court at approximately 6:30 p.m. Saturday. One 15-year-old girl was taken to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where she died of her injuries according to Harford County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cristie Kahler.
Her mother, age 39, and her sister, also 15 years old, were both transported to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Kahler said. The mother was in serious condition with non-life-threatening injuries as of 11 p.m. Saturday; the other 15-year-old girl was treated for her injuries and released.
Police identified a suspect in the stabbings as 21-year-old Ivan Enrique Molina Bustamante. Deputies searched the area around Reider Court with the assistance of aviation and K-9 units, but were unable to locate him. A warrant has been issued for Bustamante’s arrest; he is considered armed and dangerous, police said. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to call 911.
According to court records, Bustamante was charged with a single count of second-degree assault in June; he pleaded not guilty but received probation before judgement in September.
