From Harford County government:
The Department of Community Services’ Office of Human Relations partners once again with Harford County Public Schools and Barnes and Noble to bring Celebrating Our Community through Traditions & Arts. It’s an exciting, interactive event celebrating diversity in the community. The event takes place on Saturday, November 22, 2014, 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Barnes & Noble, Tollgate Marketplace in Bel Air.
Celebrating Our Community will feature interactive displays highlighting the various parts of the world from which local residents have migrated including Central America, Asia, Europe, Africa, and others. The event includes musical performances from local students, a storyteller and puppet show.
Celebrating Our Community attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the Harford County Public School of their choice to receive $1,000 to buy reading materials. The school with the most votes wins. Fountain Green Elementary and Homestead-Wakefield Elementary Schools are past winners.
Celebrating Our Community is free and open to the public. Enjoy family time and holiday shopping at the event. Thanks for using Book Fair ID #11448040 at the checkout. A percentage of the proceeds benefit Harford County Public Schools. For more information, contact the Office of Human Relations at 410-638-4739 or humanrelations@harfordcountymd.gov.

Can’t wait to start my holiday shopping. I usually load up on Thanksgiving gifts and then jump ahead to all those trendy New Year presents. By the way, do we have a “Boxing Day” in this country?
