From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
Harford County Sheriff’s Office investigators have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with the Sunday morning shooting in Street, MD.
The suspect is identified as Bruce L. Olney, 46, of Darlington, MD. After consultation with the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office, Sheriff’s Office investigators charged the suspect with Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, and Reckless Endangerment. Olney was taken to the Harford County Interagency Processing Center for his initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner. Olney was ordered held without bail and is currently being held in the Harford County Detention Center.
The suspect is charged in connection with the shooting of Deana M. Craven, 43, of Darlington, MD. About 11:40 a.m., on Sunday, February 22nd, Harford County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1500 block of Robinson Mill Road in Darlington for a report of a person who had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies learned Craven had been driven from the scene by a private party after Olney, her boyfriend, shot her. Craven was taken to the Darlington
Volunteer Fire Department, stabilized, and flown by state police helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment of what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
During the early stages of the investigation, deputies determined Craven had been shot with a shotgun and sustained injuries to the arm. Deputies, after a brief search, located Olney in the woods to the rear of the Robinson Mill Road address and took him into custody without incident. Sheriff’s Deputies obtained and served a search warrant at the residence and recovered the shotgun.
