From the Aberdeen Police Department:
Aberdeen, MD – On Sunday, March 1, 2015, at approximately 1307 hours, Corporal Shannon Persuhn and Officer First Class Robert Tice of the Aberdeen Police Department’s Patrol Division, responded to 117 S. Law Street Aberdeen, Maryland for a reported possible heroin overdose.
The 24 year old male victim was located and found unconscious, breathing and making snoring sounds. Both officers immediately administered their issued Naloxone Nasal spray, also known as NARCAN to counteract the effects of the overdose. The patient did recover after receiving the NARCAN and was transported to Harford Memorial Hospital by Aberdeen EMS.
This incident resulted in the first successful save due to the diligence, quick thinking and recent training of both officers on scene in the use and administering of Naloxone Nasal Spray.
