From Harford County government:
Public and private nonprofit organizations committed to planning and implementing tourism-related activities in Harford County are invited to apply for competitive grant funding from Harford County government. The Tourism-Related Competitive Grant Application process is open from March 2 through April 17, 2015 to provide general program and operation funding for cultural, historical, agricultural, eco- and sports tourism and heritage events for the fiscal year 2016. Applicants must have 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) status under the IRS Code. The grants will be funded by county revenue from the recently enacted hotel lodging fee.
“I look forward to investing county revenue from the hotel lodging fee to support tourism-related activities and promote economic growth,” said Harford County Executive Barry Glassman.
The Harford County Economic Development Advisory Board (EDAB) has designated a Tourism Activity Review Committee (TARC) to focus on providing non-municipally allocated revenue from the hotel lodging fee to support tourism-related programs and operations that further enhance Harford County as a premier tourism destination. Applications are available electronically at www.harfordcountymd.gov and www.harfordbusiness.org, and hard copies will be available at each branch of the Harford County Public Library.
