From the City of Havre de Grace:
The Bulle Rock Civic League along with the Museums from the City of Havre de Grace will host an afternoon of activities to introduce you to the City’s heritage. Bulle Rock Residents’ Club will be open to the public Saturday March 21st from 10 am – 2 pm giving families a chance to learn more about each Museum in Havre de Grace. Enjoy exhibits that feature the American folk art of decoy carving, the story of the Susquehanna and Tidewater Canal, and the history of the oldest continuously operational lighthouse in the State of Maryland. Also, learn more about the region’s rich maritime heritage and the farming history in Harford County during the turn of the 20th century.
“This year we have expanded our focus to include the preservation of Arts and Heritage,” stated Bill Nichols resident of Havre de Grace and member of the Bulle Rock Civic League. “Last year we saw over 120 visitors to the residents’ club and we hope to have more this year.” The Susquehanna Lock House Museum, Decoy Museum, Friends of the Concord Point Lighthouse, Maritime Museum, Steppingstone Farm Museum, and the Chesapeake Conservancy will all be on hand with activities and demonstrations for all to enjoy. Pam Wexler, member of the Civic League, has reached out to the community Art organizations and has invited the Havre de Grace Drama Guild to conduct performances at the Expo. The Opera House Foundation will be on hand to explain the growth of the arts in Havre de Grace and the progress of the renovation of the Opera House.
