From Harford Land Trust:
The Public is cordially invited the the Harford Land Trust’s 5th Annual Kayak Poker Run, being held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, beginning at 9:30 am in Tydings Park in Havre de Grace, Maryland.
A “Kayak Poker Run” is a family-friendly event that involves kayaking on the bay, along the shore line between Tydings Park and Swan Creek. At various stations, each kayak will receive one card drawn at random from a deck; at the end, the kayaks with the best “poker hands” win prizes!
The event is open to all, but participants have to bring their own kayak. Registration involves making a $25 donation per kayak. Prizes, box lunches for to all participants, and event coordination is all produced by the Harford Land Trust (HLT), a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is protecting the natural resources, scenic beauty, and rural character of Harford County.
All funds raised from the event will go to support HLT’s work to protect and preserve important ecosystems of farmland, forests, marsh and coastal land for future generations to enjoy. Since its founding in 1991, the HLT has directly preserved over 1,500 acres, and has assisted in the preservation of roughly 20,000 acres in total.
The 2015 Kayak event is supported by a generous donation from the Ben Boniface Memorial Fund, which has allowed HLT to reduce cut the Entry Fee Donation in half, as compared to past years.
To register for the event or to learn more about HLT, please VISIT THE HLT WEB SITE at http://www.harfordlandtrust.org, where you can REGISTER ON LINE! REGISTRATION DEADLINE: JUNE 8, 2015.
