From Harford Family House:
Six-month-old Charlotte Vogt is Harford’s Most Beautiful Baby for 2015. Charlotte earned her title in the sixth annual “Celebree Presents Harford’s Most Beautiful Baby” contest held Saturday, May 9 at Celebree Learning Center in Fallston. 131 babies entered this year’s competition and 127,910 votes were cast on www.harfordbaby.org. At the height of contest, there were more than 74,500 unique visitors to the website. As the winner of the contest, Charlotte received a full year of pre-school courtesy of Celebree Learning Centers valued at $9,000, along with a $1,000 cash prize from APGFCU and other gift certificates.
The event raised a total of $13,000 to support the valuable work of Harford Family House. For more than a quarter of a century, Harford Family House has provided transitional housing and resources to families in need, to move them from homelessness and hopelessness to stability and hope. It costs just $25 to provide one night of housing to a parent or child in need, so funds raised through this event will provide 130 nights of shelter to a homeless family of four.
Generous prize packages were also awarded to first runner up and winner of the toddler division, 21-month-old Lily Shay. Other winners included:
– Mother/Daughter Look-a-Like: Lily Shay and her mother, Amanda
– Father/Son Look-a-Like: Gavin Brown and his father, Matt
– Parent/Child Look-a-Like: Zane Avila and his mother, Lindsay
– Baby Crawl Race: Anthony Bakie
In addition to the prizes presented to this year’s contestants, winners of previous Beautiful Baby contests were also featured in a “Where Are They Now” article in the Spring issue of Harford Style Magazine. The popularity of this contest continues to grow, and since its inception in 2010, the event has raised more than $60,000 for Harford Family House.
The 2015 event and prize packages were made possible by generous sponsorships from the following: Celebree Learning Centers, Jones Junction, Rosedale Federal, APGFCU, Harford Mutual, Mars Supermarket, Beacon Staffing, Harford Financial Group, My Gym, WSI Web Specialist, Saxon’s Diamond Center, Jeffrey Horowitz, MD – Plastic Surgery, NVS Salon, Pat’s Pizza, Chesapeake Employer Insurance, Bel Air Pediatric Dentistry, Animal Emergency Hospital, Susquehanna Spine & Rehab, Silky Wason- Realtor, Bel Air Orthodontics, Movement Mortgage, Harford Mall, WXCY, WAMD, Harford Style Magazine, Elegant Living, Harford County Living, Anni Oh Photography, The Stories Between and Bel Air Athletic Club.
“Harford County sure does have a lot of beautiful babies!” remarked Harford Family House Executive Director Joyce Duffy. “I look forward to this event every year, and appreciate the many families who came out to support the contestants and also learn more about the important work of Harford Family House. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, this event raised enough money to provide shelter for a family of four for 130 nights.”
