From the Upper Chesapeake Foundation:
More than 500 Harford County children and families will gather for the third annual Kids for Hope mud run and obstacle course on Saturday, September 12, at the Arena Club in Bel Air. The event kicks off at 8 a.m. with staggered start times on a first-come, first-served basis. The event concludes at 11 a.m.
Kids for Hope benefits Cancer LifeNet at the Kaufman Cancer Center at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Cancer LifeNet is a free-of-charge supportive and navigation program offered to cancer patients and their loved ones in Harford and Cecil counties.
Kids and teens, ages 7-18, will be challenged to complete an obstacle course including cargo nets, rope and wall climbing, mud and sand pits, fitness challenges, tunnels, bridges, a trek through the beach pool and more. This family-friendly course empowers kids to take part in a unique event, while raising funds for quality cancer care in the community. Kids for Hope takes place on the only obstacle course and mud run in Harford County.
“It is truly amazing to see the kids having fun while being challenged by this muddy, obstacle course for such a great cause. The children of our future are already making a difference in the community by raising funds to support Cancer LifeNet at the Kaufman Cancer Center,” said Hollie Eid, University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health team member and event chairperson.
Registration for the third annual Kids for Hope costs $25 per child in advance and $35 on the day of the event. The Arena Club is located at 2304 Churchville Road in Bel Air.
