From University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health:
University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH) is sponsoring the Business Center in the new Havre de Grace Library. The library is scheduled to open in early June.
Located on the second floor of the mezzanine area, in a glass-walled room off the main adult area of the library, the Business Center will feature state-of-the-art technology with multiple access points for laptops, tablets and PCs plus charging stations. It also will be equipped with a scanner and color printer. High-speed Wi-Fi will be available in the Business Center and throughout the building.
The Business Center is geared toward small business owners, entrepreneurs, consultants and research students. The library will continue to offer classes, programs and events on various business topics in addition to TED Talks and computer assistance.
There will be no charge to use the Business Center (other than to print), and professional staff will be located nearby for assistance. For many Havre de Grace Library users, the library is their primary source for computer and high-speed Internet access. The goal of the Business Center is to offer a convenient, quiet, adult computer area for business functions, research and correspondence.
“University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health and UM Harford Memorial Hospital are committed to making Havre de Grace a great place to live and work. A vibrant and active library contributes to a high quality of life, and our sponsorship of the Business Center in the new Havre de Grace Library is another way we demonstrate our partnership with the community,” said Lyle E. Sheldon, president/CEO of UM UCH. “With our investment in the Havre de Grace community, we helped the library go over their capital campaign goal for the new branch. We are pleased to assist the library with this new addition to Havre de Grace.”
