From Harford County 4-H Clubs, Inc.:
Miss Isabella Grifasi was awarded the Harford County 4-H Camp Scholarship before the Livestock Auction at the 2016 Harford County Farm Fair. Miss. Grifasi is a graduate of C. Milton Wright High School and will be attending High Point University this fall to study Biology. Her achievements in high school and 4-H, along with her leadership at 4-H camp and her community, earned her this scholarship.
Miss Grifasi was a camper at the 4-H Camp for many years and became a tribe leader and a camp director in recent years. She was an active member of the Churchville Champions 4-H Club and has volunteered many hours within her community. She was also a honor student at C. Milton Wright High School, where she participated in band and field hockey. Miss Grifasi is an outstanding young individual from Harford County.
Miss Grifasi stated that “4-H helped me by gaining leadership, developing life skills, and having lasting friendships”. What she enjoyed most about 4-H Camp was “to get children to enjoy nature and the world around them, instead of looking at a small screen.”
The scholarship is awarded annually by the Harford County 4-H Clubs, Inc., the operator of the Harford County 4-H Camp and Deer Creek Overlook. The 4-H Clubs of Harford County also contributed funds for this scholarship. The camp at the Rocks is also one of the oldest 4-H camps in the nation. The camp is known for its contributions to bettering the lives of local youth and the community. You can support the 4-H camp through volunteering, monetary contributions, or scheduling an event at one of the camp’s unique facilities.
