Wright: Craig Shows “Insensitivity to the Economic Problems” Being Caused By Illegal Immigration

From Stephen M. Wright, Candidate Harford County Executive:

Dear Sir or Madam:

I read with great surprise County Executive David Craig’s reaction to the unanimous passage of the “English Only” bill by the Harford County Delegation in Annapolis. His reaction demonstrates once again Mr. Craig’s insensitivity to the economic problems being caused by the liberal big spending philosophy and the illegal immigration problem.

Mr. Craig attempted to imply that because the English bill was unanimously passed in the delegation that members were incapable of paying attention to other issues such as the State budget. Not only is this is an old political cheap trick, but is shows his lack of understanding of the costs associated of not passing such a bill. The cost of multi-lingual signs, multi-lingual legal documents, multi-lingual phone systems and the like could cost the county millions of dollars to implement. The FAIR report out of ...Continue Reading

Passaro: “In Spite of the Recession, This Can Be a Real Jump Start to Harford’s Economy”

From Tony Passaro of the Bel Air Tea Party Patriots:

After reviewing the facts inherent in the Beechtree project, I have decided to throw my full support into this endeavor as I find its implementation is in the best interests of Harford County and its Taxpayers.

I am disappointed at the opposition as most of it is uninformed, illogical, irrelevant, inflammatory, specious and nothing more than derogatory braying. It is not even worth the effort to rebut.

This leads me to believe that the real opposing agenda is political and designed to disparage the County Government as a group and the County Executive as an individual…. What irks me is that some erstwhile Patriots would put political expediency and self aggrandizement above the benefit to the people of this county…..

The Tea Party, and Tony Passaro, are guided by principles, not personalities or parties. In ...Continue Reading

Whiteley: “…The Ultimate Slap In The Taxpayer’s Face…”

From Roy Whiteley, president of Marylanders for Fair Property Taxation:

On February 24, we addressed the Budget & Taxation Committee on SB 458 & SB 724. We were disappointed that more of you could not attend in support of these measures. However, even though our support at the Senate was not as good as it was for the House version, it was adequate and well presented; significant enough to be noticed.

Senator Barry Glassman made eloquent remarks in introducing both bills and their need for passage before introducing Tony and the writer. Our verbal supporting testimony was we feel unjustly foreshortened by Chairman Currie but Tony Passaro, Bel Air TEA Party founder and spokesman did his usual scholarly, humorous delivery that filled in the blanks. Ellie Dieglemann, Ocean City resident and Worcester County Commissioner candidate, together with first time Eastern Shore testier, Cathy Geisler made strong support comments. Currie allowed Cathy ...Continue Reading
