The 15-year-old girl, Kelsey Elaine Brown, who was critically injured in a Feb. 5 accident when the vehicle in which she was traveling struck a snow plow, has died from her injuries.
Maryland State Police reported today (Monday) that the teenager died over the weekend. She had been at Bayview Hospital in critical and unstable condition.
The accident occured on the afternoon of Feb. 5 when the mini-van being driven by the victim’s mother, Carrie Ann Brown of Darlington, struck a dump truck on Paradise Road at the I-95 overpass in Aberdeen. Police said the dump truck, privately-owned by contracted by the Maryland State Highway Administration, was parked on the side of the road and preparing to plow the forthcoming snow.

(Joppa, MD – February 11, 2010) Shortly after 12:00pm on Thursday, February 11, 2010, Harford County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded to a call regarding an accident which involved a man trapped under a Bobcat tractor in the 2400 block of Old Mountain Road Central, in Joppa MD.
The victim was attempting to make repairs to his Bobcat skid loader, when he became trapped underneath the hydraulic lift of the equipment. Johnathan David Maxwell, age 29, of Watkinsville, Georgia was pronounced dead at the scene, by paramedics, due to injuries sustained.
This is to advise you that Governor Martin O’Malley has ordered the United States Flag and Maryland State Flag flown at half staff on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, from sunrise to sunset. This is in memory of Sgt. David J. Smith of Frederick, Maryland, who died on January 26, 2010 while supporting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

(Bel Air, MD) – Charges resulting from a Harford County Grand Jury indictment were served by State Police this morning on a driver involved in a crash last month in which three people were killed.
The accused is identified as Travis N. Gray, 31, of the 3500-block of Day Road, Darlington, Md. He is charged with three counts each of vehicular manslaughter, negligent homicide while under the influence and negligent homicide while impaired. He is charged with one count each of driving while under the influence and driving while impaired.
Gray turned himself in to State Police CRASH Team investigators at 7:00 a.m. today at the Bel Air Barracks. After processing, he was taken to the Harford County Detention Center where he was incarcerated on $250,000 bond.

(Edgewood, MD – November 27, 2009) –Harford County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 600 block of Yorkshire Drive, Edgewood MD. The victim has been identified as Brandon Jerome Sanders, 25, of Edgewood, MD.
At approximately 7:30am on November 27, 2009, deputies responded to a 911 call in the 600 block of Yorkshire Drive in Edgewood MD, in reference to a body found lying in an open space near the caller’s home. Deputies determined the unidentified male had been shot in the upper torso region of his body. He was verified as deceased at the time of discovery. While canvassing the area, deputies were able to reveal that several neighbors had heard shots fired sometime between 11:00pm and midnight on Thursday evening, yet no calls were placed to 911.

(Street, MD): Troopers from the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack responded to MD 543, Ady Road, south of MD 646, Prospect Road, in reference to a two car motor vehicle collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2002 Ford pick-up operated by Travis Nelson Grey, thirty-one years old, of Street, MD, was traveling northbound on Ady Road prior to Prospect Road. Gray failed to maintain control of his vehicle traveled into the southbound lane colliding head-on with a 1998 Ford pick-up where both vehicles came to final rest. The 1998 Ford pick-up was operated by James Andrew Bielanski, forty-eight years old, of Street, MD. The 1998 Ford pick-up was also occupied by Pamela Blanche Bielanski, forty-seven years old, of Street MD, and Robert William Arbogast, thirty-five years old, of Street, MD.
Havre de Grace resident Juanita L. Warman was among the 13 people killed in Thursday’s shooting at Fort Hood in Texas, according to national media reports.
While Warman and the dozen others who died in Thursday’s attack have not yet been officially named by the Department of Defense, their names, Warman’s included, are slowly filtering out as family and friends are notified.

Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a domestic dispute that occurred in the 1000 block of Ellicott Drive Bel Air, Maryland on October 31, 2009 at approximately 1210 p.m. that resulted in the death of resident Jason Lawrence, 23.
A 911 call was received by the Emergency Operation Center that indicated a domestic dispute was occurring and residents were being threatened by a subject with a knife. The first responding deputy was met by a family member in front of the residence who stated Jason Lawrence was inside the residence armed with a knife.
Upon the deputy entering the residence he encountered Mr. Lawrence who threatened him with a knife. In fear for his safety as well as others in the residence the deputy drew his firearm and fired striking Mr. Lawrence several times in the torso area.

County Executive Craig pleased with response from the state
(Bel Air, MD) – - Nearly eight months after an accident took the life of 20 year-old Mary Saludares at the intersection of MD Rt. 24 and Edgewood Road in Edgewood, the State Highway Administration is planning to make improvements to the area to enhance pedestrian safety. Saludares, of Washington D. C., was struck and killed by a motorist on February 20, 2009 shortly after 10:00 p.m. as she was attempting to cross MD Rt. 24.
Shortly after the incident, County Executive David R. Craig, County Councilman Dion Guthrie and several business and community leaders, met with representatives of the Maryland State Police and Maryland State Highway Administration to review the accident scene and discuss the traffic situation and need for improvements for pedestrian and vehicular traffic safety. Subsequently, SHA conducted a sidewalk feasibility review of the intersection.
