“Official State Exercise” among many trivial state laws to go into effect today
Walking will become the official state exercise today, thanks to legislation from Maryland. Del. William A. Bronrott of Montgomery County. This bill was obviously a reaction to one that goes into effect today that named Smith Island Cake the official state desert. Well, at least we all walk a little each day, so we are no longer fibbing when we tell out doctors at yearly checkups that, according to the state at least, we do exercise daily.
Here are a few other laws that go into effect today:
- A Truth in Music Advertising Law. Basically, bands can’t use the same name and perform the same songs as other bands, or be fined up to $15,000.
