Maryland State Police Arrest Joppa Fugitive With Help Of Comcast On Demand

From Maryland State Police:

(Bel Air, MD) After receiving information from a Comcast viewer, Maryland State Police make an arrest of a wanted fugitive in Harford County.

Troopers from the Bel Air Barracks arrested Sean Stephen Garrison, 37, of Joppa, Maryland after receiving information from a Comcast viewer who had seen him listed on Maryland’s Fugitive Files On Demand. Comcast’s Fugitive Files is a public service that gives digital cable customers the opportunity to view profiles of local criminals On Demand and submit anonymous tips to help police capture fugitives. The arrest of Garrison adds to a growing list of criminals nationwide that have been located through the help of Comcast viewers.

Harford Cable Network Sponsors Logo Design Contest

Bel Air, MD – September 10, 2009 – Harford Cable Network is sponsoring a design contest for a new station logo. The contest is open to the public. Logo guidelines are:

- The logo must include “Harford Cable Network” somewhere in the design. - The logo must be submitted as a high resolution .eps or .pdf file, with all fonts outlined. - All entries must include the name, address, phone number and email address of the contestant. - The logo must be submitted by email to: hcn@harfordcountymd.gov. - The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 5:00pm. - The entry must be an original design, and not a copy that may be subject to copyright laws. - All entries will be judged on creativity, originality, aesthetics, use of space and color, and appropriateness for use on television. - It is not necessary to subscribe to cable or have access to Harford Cable Network ...Continue Reading

Clark Turner Day in Port Deposit: An “Extreme” Win-Win Situation

A good thing happened recently in Port Deposit.

I know that sounds far-fetched (I mean, previously, the best thing that ever happened to Port Deposit was getting mentioned on four separate instances by Ripley’s “Believe it Or Not”), but when ABC’s popular Extreme Makeover: Home Edition television show rolls into town it’s hard to get things wrong.

But they nearly did this time.

In mid-October the cast and crew of the show, which takes disadvantaged, underprivileged and otherwise down-on-their-luck families and heaps upon them a new mansion filled with untold riches, rolled into Cecil County to visit Freedom Hills Therapeutic Riding Program.

For a quarter-century the Luther family has operated its non-profit program, which offers horseback rides as a type of therapy for people with physical and developmental problems.
