(Bel Air, MD – October 8, 2008) – – Robert Cooper, Director of the Harford County Department of Public Works has announced that Thomas C. Hilton has been selected as the Deputy Director of Public Works for the Division of Environmental Services. Hilton is currently Chief Engineer for the County’s Division of Water and Sewer and comes to his new position with over 13 years experience in the Public Works Department.
Hilton, a Professional Engineer, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Loyola College. “Tom has been a great asset to the Department of Public Works Water and Sewer Division and I know he will continue to utilize his management and engineering capabilities in providing the best service possible to the County and its citizens in the areas of Recycling and Solid Waste Management,” said Cooper.
Hilton’s responsibilities will include oversight of the Harford Waste Disposal Facility located on Scarboro Road, Harford County’s Recycling Program, and the Harford Resource Recovery Facility.
County Executive David R. Craig referred to Hilton as great choice. “Tom has served Harford County with dedication and attention to detail for the past 13 years. I am very pleased he will continue to serve our citizens and lead the Environmental Services Division as they expand their facilities and upgrade processes.”
Hilton’s duties as Deputy Director will take effect as of October 20, 2008.
