Parks and Recreation opened their new public Woodworking Shop in Bel Air next to the Equestrian Center at 700 Tollgate Road. Woodworking tools included in the shop are a 12 inch jointer, 10 inch table saw, 22 inch planner, lathes, drill press, drum/disc sander, band saws, full shop dust extraction, grinder, mortise machine, panel saw, miter saw, plus more. It is a shop woodworkers dream of having and can enjoy using. The Shop is open Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 8 pm for adults of all ages. The cost per year is $25.
Planned are classes, demonstrations, and clubs, maybe you’re interested in woodturning, we have two full size Powermatic lathes. One of the clubs we’d like to begin is a wood turners club where members would learn different skills from one another as well as hosting workshops, seminars, meetings and classes. If you are interested call us at 443-987-7761 we can help you form the club.
We also need experienced woodworkers and wood turners who would be willing to volunteer as “Shop Foreman”! Our Shop Foremen are the volunteers who keep the shop open and staffed so everyone can enjoy it.
If you are in search of a hobby or maybe just need to build new kitchen cabinets for your house come join us or give us a call at 443-987-7761.
