The following was received from the office of Del. Pat McDonough:
As an illegal alien, already residing in the United States, or someone planning to come here unauthorized, your future prospects have increased dramatically. Although George Bush dropped the ball on the issue of illegals and damaged our nation in many ways with the arrival of almost 20 million now living in America, his defective leadership on this issue pales in comparison to what President Obama has planned. When the voters sent Mr. Obama to the White House, they had little knowledge of his amnesty philosophy related to illegal immigration. Mr. Obama, his opponent John McCain, and the national news media conspired to remove the issue of illegal immigration from the spotlight during the 2008 Presidential election. This troubling issue, which so many Americans continue to be concerned about, mysteriously disappeared from the national debates.
Now that Mr. Obama is President, his policies and plans have become clear. One of his first appointments as President was the former top lobbyist for LA RAZA. The organization LA RAZA, which in Spanish means “the race”, is a powerful international group advocating for open borders and lawful rights for illegal aliens. Mr. Obama appointed Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano as the Secretary of Homeland Security which controls the border patrol and other important immigration programs. Secretary Napolitano has rapidly put in place a policy that drastically reduced the raids on domestic employers that hire illegals. Many other administrative tactics are now being used by the federal government to weaken our efforts to stem the tide of illegal immigration. All of this is occurring at a time of economic stress and a 10% unemployment rate.
The real impending danger is President Obama’s commitment to pass a comprehensive amnesty act. This proposal is supported vigorously by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Leader Harry Reid. The members of Congress who share the concern of the American people and oppose amnesty are greatly outnumbered by the super majority of liberal politicians who were elected with Mr. Obama in 2008. It appears “the lawmakers who support lawbreakers” may succeed in passing a federal amnesty law. Talk radio and a grassroots citizen’s movement defeated the last amnesty proposal, but the numbers in Congress and the times have changed.
The new amnesty law is very scary. It contains a number of mandates that deplete our concept of citizenship and will be extremely costly to the taxpayers. One mandate will provide taxpayers’ subsidized full tuition for higher education for illegals. Another idea will make it easier for illegals to receive benefits including national standards for drivers’ licenses and potential access to receiving Social Security payments. Finally, the most dangerous potential change to our system is the opportunity for illegals to have access to the newly proposed big government healthcare program. So far, the national media and President Obama have managed to quietly move this entire plot forward without providing transparency or disclosure to the general public. “Secrecy” appears to be their game plan.
In Maryland, Governor O’Malley and the leaders of the General Assembly are virtual clones of Mr. Obama on this issue. In the last session of the General Assembly, they forced through at the last minute and put into law an amnesty bill providing drivers’ licenses for illegals in our state. In the near future, perhaps as soon as June 20th, I plan to hold a news conference announcing a lawsuit against the Maryland drivers’ license amnesty law. Also, on Saturday, June 20th, I will be hosting a V.I.P. reception featuring former Presidential candidate, Tom Tancredo as the keynote speaker. Mr. Tancredo is recognized as a national leader on immigration reform and the fight against amnesty legislation.
For more information about the lawsuit and the V.I.P. reception, contact Delegate McDonough at 410-238-0025 or send an e-mail to Patmcdee@comcast.net.

In my opinion, if you break the law to get here you forfeit your rights and you especially forfeit any claim for government assistance.
Dave says
Mr. Tancredo could never be seen as a national leader on immigration reform. He is seen as an ultra-right wing extremist who has claimed about immigrants that “They’re coming here to kill you, and you, and me, and my grandchildren.”
His Team America PAC (ridiculous name, if you ask me) is run by Marcus Epstein, the Executive Director who Tancredo kept on staff even after he pled guilty to assaulting an African American woman and using a racial epithet in 2007.
In response to another terrorist attack, Tancredo advocates bombing Mecca, Medina and other sites holy to over a billion Muslims around the world.
Then, he called Miami a Third World country and responded to bomb threats by saying “What is more ‘Third World country’ than threatening to bomb the place?”
Tom Tancredo is a Third World racist extremist, and those that hold him up as a leader on immigration reform cast themselves in the same light.

OK my opinion on illegal immigration. We need to deal with the problem by removing the incentive to come. Work is the incentive. Let us punish those who provide the jobs. First offense a 100K fine per illegal worker, second you forfiet your assests of the buisness. No games! If you dare to open a buisness and hire illegals a third time…..10 years in prision. That would remove the incentive for them to come.
fedup says
Yes, it would also remove the income for 10 to 12 million illegals that are already here… do you believe they’ll go home en mass? Because if only 1 percent turns to crime you’re looking at 100,000 to 120,000 criminals and a whole lot of trouble… it sounds like such a simple solution though doesn’t it… might have been the thing to do three or four decades ago.
Cdev says
Look they are already breaking the law anyway. If we did this, yes we would have unemployed illegals. Some would go back no one would return or keep coming. Then we can spend money on round ups.
you seem to talking out of both ends. Do you want to protect buisness man who hire the illegals and profit off their backs and cheat their fellow Americans?
Dave Yensan says
Actually there are more in the neighborhood of 20 million illegals, excuse me that’s not politically correct, “immigrants without papers” here.
I agree that the very first thing that needs doing is to eliminate the atmosphere that allows them to be here. That is nail the employers to a cross, deport all illegals when found. If they come back send them back but deliver them in such a way as to discourage them from trying for a third, (I would deliver them by air and deport them from a safe but injurious altitude. The borders don’t need to be sealed, but the Homeland Security department needs to understand its mission more clearly. Of course that would take real leadership in DC and that ain’t gonna happen!
In the meantime while none of the above get done states like California, Arizona, Texas and yup Maryland just hemorrhage money to support the whims of really bad leaders. Calling this racist is just plain stupid! It’s not racist to want all laws enforced. It’s called a land of laws.
Steven says
yeah lets take jobs away…… wait they are already doing that!!! …and we are in a recession.
there is no solution to this problem! look at the world, things are not black and white anymore….
we all are heading to a global government, it cant be stoped.
mark my words “let see where earth is in 100 years from now” ??

I would agree with you if it weren’t patently unfair. Illegals waltz across the border and I can’t sponsor my relatives on a tourist visa because our great state department is protecting us from those dangerous Filipino people that might overstay their visas. Still waiting to hear from US Taxpayer how this is fair…

I think they should uphold the rule of law and govern by the rules set forth by the United States Constitution, as they swore they would with their oaths of office.
Back in the sixties the government came into the schools and brainwashed us with the idea we needed to control the population because it was rising so fast. They said the roads would become crowded and we would run out of things like water.
They unleashed abortions, birth control pills, and other forms of Family Planning.
To allow the country to be over run with the criminals in businesses illegal labor while the criminals in the government aid and abet the invasion is a travesty against mankind.
They have seen to it our children were killed to control the population at the same time allowing the world to export their population problems here.
What about our sacrifices, many made against our will?
P.S. We still haven’t recovered from the last time the criminals in business were allowed to bring in their slaves.

We have so many traitors to the citizenry in the U.S. Some of them are called businessmen. Some are called “representatives”. It is outrageous that congress has given La Raza millions of dollars of the American taxpayers money, without ever consulting with those taxpayers. And what is even more amazing is that the U.S. taxpayer takes it all lying down. Millions upon millions of Iranians protested the result of Irans election. These people could be shot, by that government, yet they stil made their voices heard. Here in the U.S. we have the right to protest and are protected from all the things third world nations do to their citizenry. Yet, not a peep, not a sound from the U.S. citizenry on the most important issues affecting their nation. including illegal immigration and amnesty for illegal aliens. It’s mindboggling how low we have fallen.

We need to march on Washington in massive numbers. Contact “FAIR” and request that they organize the march. If we all pull together we can fight this South American invadision.

Nothing will change. Only the faces in office. The Feds have the immigration system exactly where they want it, mass illegal alien voter fraud, a permanent underclass of exploitable slave labor and the taxpayers subsidizing it all.
If you don’t like it you will need to find another country. This one has been sold out.

Dave in #2 is misleading (probably not a big surprise to most). The Mecca quote was more or less a rehashing of the MAD doctrine; Tancredo had been asked what he’d do if several U.S. cities were wiped out by nuclear devices. Apparently the Democratic response to such an event would be a sharply-worded letter to the U.N.
The quote Dave provides is, of course, taken out of context. Tancredo wasn’t referring to all immigrants, only criminals and terrorists hiding within the flow of illegal aliens: 24ahead.com/blog/archives/007282.html

matt, thanks for the well thought out and logically argued statement. The information you used to back it up has thoroughly convinced me that you are correct.
On second thought (which is two more than you had), you actually don’t have a clue, do you? Does it make you feel good to post intellectually empty and antagonistic messages? Then keep it up! It’s all about each of us doing whatever it takes to boost our egos and pump ourselves up.
Some of us can judge people not by the color of their skin or their nation of origin, but instead by whether or not they obey the laws of our nation.
And you just call people names. Congratulations. I’m so proud of you.

Phil: Look who’s talking. What “well thought out and logically argued statement(s)” have you made? All I have ever seen from you is “intellectually empty and antagonistic messages” filled with vitriol sarcasm. You are a stalker and so sad.

Phil,
Do you judge the multitudinous white business owners who employ illegal immigrants as breaking the laws of our nation as well? Are they equally culpable in this supposed scourge on our country? What about the policy makers who have failed to fix a broken immigration system? Are they as much a part of the problem, or is it just these brown-skinned poor people that we want to keep off our lands? Do you honestly know someone who is angry about immigration who is not also a bit of a racist?
Phil Dirt says
matt, yes, I want business owners who employ illegals to be prosecuted. When did I ever say I didn’t? That is, all business owners, not just white ones. (Who was tossing around the racist label here? Kettle, pot is calling.)
Yes, when the policy makers who are trying to subvert the existing laws try to stop enforcement of those laws, then they are breaking the law and should be punished. I cannot call a system that is not being used broken, but you seem to have no trouble doing so.
And yes, I am angry about illegal immigration (not legal immigration) of any kind – from South America, Europe, Asia, Africa or anywhere else.
Some folks sure like to inflame the discussions by declaring that others are ANTI-IMMIGRATION! Read my keys – I am anti-ILLEGAL immigration, and I don’t understand having a value system that is not anti-illegal everything.
Only one of us commented on a specific race who should be cracked down on, and it wasn’t me. You should be ashamed of yourself for accusing me of being racist without anything to back it up. It’s incorrect, inflammatory, and insulting.
