Major Stonesifer Graduates From FBI National Academy

(Harford County, MD –July 20, 2009) – Major Dale Stonesifer of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office graduated on June 12, 2009, from the 237th session of the FBI National Academy Program held in Quantico, Virginia. One of 250 students, Major Stonesifer joined men and women from various law enforcement agencies from around the world. Classmates included law enforcement professional from the continental United States including the District of Columbia, twenty-three international countries, four military organizations, and five federal civilian organizations.

Internationally know for its academic excellence, the National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy, offers 10 weeks of advance investigative, management and fitness training for selected officers with proven records as professionals within their home agencies. On average, these officers have over nineteen years of law enforcement experience.

The training for the program is provided by FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents, and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise. “My experience the FBI Academy was invaluable,” stated Stonesifer. “Not only was I able to broaden my network of resources; I was provided some of the best instruction available in the field of law enforcement today.”

The FBI National Academy began in July 1935. Since the inception of the program over 42,000-law enforcement professional have graduated; of which over 50% are still active in the field of law enforcement. “The training Major Stonesifer received compliments his existing level of expertise and provides Harford County citizens with another valuable resource available to them by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office,” stated Sheriff L. Jesse Bane. “I am proud to have him as a member of my Command Staff and the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.”
