Edgewood Armed Robber Strikes Four Times In As Many Days

November 14, 2009 By Dagger News Service 11 Comments

From Maryland State Police:

Over the past several days business establishments in the Edgewood area have experienced four robberies that appeared to be committed by the same individual. The Friendly’s Restaurant, 1400 block of Pulaski Hwy, Edgewood, Md. was struck on two separate days: Monday, November 10 in the morning and again on Tuesday, November 11 at around 10:00 p.m. After the second Friendly’s robbery it appeared that the same suspect committed another robbery at the CVS Pharmacy, which is in close proximity to the Friendly’s. The suspect was then described as a B/M, around 40 – 50 yoa, with dark/gray hair wearing a hooded brown jacket and black pants.

On Friday, November 13, at about 8:40 p.m. it appears the same suspect robbed the Walgreen’s Pharmacy located at 1930 Pulaski Hwy, Edgewood, Md. On this occasion the suspect was wearing a brown hooded sport jacket with a distinctive thick black stripe along the sides, and blue jeans. The suspect is again described as being between 40 – 50 yoa, with dark/salt-pepper hair, possibly facial hair and glasses.

A common practice for the suspect is to have in his possession a phone and possibly pretending to be involved in a conversation with his hood extended over his head. The suspect will then approach the cashier, regardless if there are other patrons in the establishment, and demand cash. During the last robbery the suspect actually pulled his jacket up and displayed the butt of a handgun to the cashier. If you observe this individual in the act of committing a robbery call 911 immediately. Anyone who may recognize this individual is contact Metro Crime Stoppers. Callers may remain anonymous. Hey there congressman Dion Guthrie, What say you.
You promised change in your district 6 years ago and some bought into it. You promised you would focus your attention on cleaning up crime in the Edgewood area. Where are those Guardian Angels?

Four robberies by the same man?
Un-effing believable. When will it stop?

The sheeple of Edgewood are getting exactly what they deserve.
And it ain’t going to change unless they demand better from their elected leaders, their neighbors and themselves.

If Maryland actually issued CCW permits to law-abiding citizens this man could’ve been stopped and arrested on the spot.

Where is the Great Jesse Bane and the bloated Sheriff Department Budget? I can’t tell which is rising faster – Harford County Crime or Bane & Craig spending taxpayer dollars.

Jesse Bane is an honorable man who really cares about the community. I just think he could have done more as the Sheriff. I voted for him last election, but I will not next time.

Bane is a gifted speaker and a consumate politician but he is not the man to bring public safety to the rt 40 corridor. His constant whinning that gangs and the criminal activity they bring are really social problems is double speak trickery and a diversion from the fundamentals of law enforcement. Dion should be embarrassed for allowing his district to have the same public safety as the streets of Bagdad. I guess the good folks that live on Brookside Drive, Courts of Harford Square and Meadowwood don’t vote so the mission is containment of crime to those areas and not let it spread above the rust belt of the rt 40 corridor.

If you are listening Jesse please dig out your manual on “crime mapping” and just read the first few paragraphs. Put a dot on the map exactly where the crime occurred and then put a cop on the dot. If another crime occurrs on or near the dot, put a second cop on the dot and continue until no more crimes are committed around the dot.

I know this would involve waking up some near six figure sleeping oficers in the northern precinct and sending them south where the crime is but it would work.

Jesse Bane is really losing the confidence of the County. Hopefully one of the four Republican candidates has leadership and policing skills needed to bring back real policing and fiscal discipline to the Sheriff’s Office. I’m worried Meckley & Bodway are Bane clones. Anybody have any intel on Shitz and Gahler?
