William Lee Skillman, 49 of Aberdeen has been arrested and charged in the fatal hit and run accident that took the life of Jarrett A Vaughan on July 31 of this year. The Grand Jury indictment charges Skillman with negligent homicide with auto while under the influence, negligent homicide with auto while impaired, driving while under the influence of alcohol and several other related offenses. Bond was set at $100,000.00

Fatal pedestrian accident investigated
(Aberdeen, Maryland) July 31, 2009- At about 6:00 am Aberdeen Police responded to the area of west bound Pulaski Highway near the Route 715 overpass to investigate a body lying next to the roadway. Officers located an adult male suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time the striking vehicle has not been located. Updated Information: Victim identified-striking vehicle recovered
August 4, 2009- The victim who was struck and killed on July 31st has been identified as Jarrett Anthony Vaughan 19, of Aberdeen. The striking vehicle, a 1999 white Dodge Durango has been recovered in the Carsins Run area, which is just outside the City. The vehicle is being held as the investigation continues.
