Edgewood Recreation Council Offers Scholarship To Edgewood High Senior

The Edgewood Recreation Council (ERC) offers a $500 Scholarship to a graduating senior of Edgewood High School who has participated in 1 or more of the recreation programs offered in Edgewood.

Applications for the scholarship are being received now and the deadline is April 30th.

The Edgewood Recreation Council, Inc. is offering one scholarship in the amount of $500.00 to a graduating high school senior for the 2009-2010 school year. The scholarship will be awarded to a college of his/her choice. This scholarship is provided for students who have actively participated in the EDGEWOOD RECREATION COUNCIL, INC. Programs. Applications must be postmarked by April 30th and will be reviewed at the May 2010 recreation council meeting. The scholarship will be awarded to the selected recipient at the Awards Ceremony.

Any student who wishes to compete for this scholarship must complete the application attached and meet the following criteria:

– Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the sophomore, junior, and first half of senior years. Provide verification of grades with the application.

– Be a current or past participant (player, coach, official) in the Edgewood Rec. Council, Inc. program(s).

– Be involved in at least one extracurricular activity, in or outside of school, in a volunteer status.

– Submit one letter of recommendation from a counselor, teacher, coach or clergy.

– Submit the completed, typed application to the following address:
