From the State Highway Administration:
Transport Requires Additional Travel Time along Northern Harford County Routes
(May 5, 2010) – Tonight, Bigge Crane and Rigging Company will continue the large-scale transport of a one-million pound generator through Harford County. The move consists of travel along MD 543 (Ady Road) eastward toward The Hickory Bypass. Currently, the transport vehicle and generator are stopped along the park and ride facility along southbound MD 543.
According to Bigge Crane and Rigging representatives, the oversized load is expected to continue along MD 543 between 8 p.m. Wednesday night, May 5 and 5 a.m. Thursday morning, May 6. Additional overnight transport days may be necessary to move the one-million pound generator toward I-95.
The hauling route includes: MD 543 (Ady Road/Fountain Green Road), MD 22 (Churchville Road), and MD 155 (Level Road).
This will be a rolling operation; State highways will be temporarily closed and detoured as the vehicle makes its way along the route, and temporary detour route signs will be posted. Sections of highways will re-open once the vehicle has passed.
When the oversized load reaches MD 155 and I-95, Maryland Transportation Authority (MdTA) personnel will escort the generator on MD 155 over I-95.
