HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. (May 24, 2010) ? For the third year in a row, The Residences at Bulle Rock received a Community Service Award by the Susquehanna Hose Company.
The resort-style community was recognized for fundraising efforts at the 3rd Annual Bulle Rock Turkey Trot. On Thanksgiving morning, 500 runners and walkers participated in the 5K walk/run, raising over $5,000.
“We greatly appreciate the continued support of the Bulle Rock community,” said Susquehanna Hose Company Chief C. Scott Hurst.
Event proceeds were used to purchase two Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) – one for the Havre de Grace Little League, which will be kept at Stancill Field, and one for the Lantern Queen Riverboat, which is berthed in Hutchins Park.
“It is our pleasure to annually host the Bulle Rock Turkey Trot as part of our ongoing commitment to the greater Havre de Grace community that we are part of,” said Brenda Desjardins, a spokeswoman for The Residences at Bulle Rock.
The 1st and 2nd Annual Bulle Rock Turkey Trots raised $21,000, which was used to purchase new emergency equipment for The City of Havre de Grace and the Susquehanna Hose Company. The City of Havre de Grace received five AEDs, while the Susquehanna Hose Company received two hydraulic rams and two rescue and escape units.
”We thank our residents for their increased participation each year,” Desjardins added. “And we look forward to continuing the tradition with the 4th Annual Bulle Rock Turkey Trot, which will take place Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 25, 2010.”
