From the HCC sports desk:
Fifty-four student-athletes have been named to the Spring 2010 Director of Athletics Honor Roll squad, Director of Athletics Ken Krsolovic and Academic Services Coordinator Greg Witkop announced recently.
In the first year of its inception during the 2008-09 academic year, 67 student-athletes were named to the honor roll after maintaining a 3.0 grade point average in either one or both semesters. The 2009-10 academic year has seen honor roll announcements for both the fall and spring semesters, with student-athletes able to garner honors for each semester, regardless of where their sport seasons fall. With fifty-four honorees during the spring semester, including 26 student-athletes who did not earn the honor in the fall semester, and fifty-one selections in the fall semester, Harford has surpassed its 67 student-athlete total from 2008-09 with 77 selections in 2009-10.
Whereas the men’s teams at Harford just barely edged out the women’s teams in the fall, the spring saw an even split, with 27 athletes named to the honor roll for the Spring 2010 semester for both men and women. The baseball and men’s lacrosse teams led all groups with eight selections to the honor roll, while women’s lacrosse (7) and women’s tennis (7) round out the top three teams overall.
The men’s soccer team completes the top three men’s teams with six selections, while the women’s soccer team had six recipients to round out the top three women’s teams at Harford.
