From the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Baltimore:
A federal jury convicted Tyrone Moore, age 19, of Aberdeen, Maryland, late on June 23, 2010, on charges of conspiring to and committing a carjacking, as well as possession of a firearm in connection with a crime of violence.
The verdict was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Joseph Riehl of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives – Baltimore Field Division; Harford County Sheriff L. Jesse Bane; Baltimore Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III; Colonel Terrence Sheridan, Superintendent of the Maryland State Police; and Chief Randy Rudy of the Aberdeen Police Department.
According to testimony at his six day trial, Moore is a member of a gang in Aberdeen. Witnesses testified that on November 25, 2007, Moore and two co-conspirators traveled to the Guilford area of Baltimore in order to steal a car. Evidence showed that Moore and his co-conspirators parked their car near North Charles Street and East 39th Street and Moore approached a man who had just parked his Jeep Cherokee on East 39th Street. Witnesses testified that Moore confronted the man, displayed his gun and demanded the man surrender the keys to the Jeep. According to trial testimony, Moore also threatened to kill a woman standing nearby if she ran away. The victim gave Moore the keys to the Jeep and Moore drove away in that vehicle.
Moore faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison on the conspiracy; 15 years in prison for the carjacking; and a minimum of seven years in prison, consecutive to any other sentence, and a maximum of life in prison for possession of a firearm in connection with a crime of violence. U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz has not scheduled a sentencing date.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended Assistant United States Attorneys Jefferson M. Gray and Christopher J. Romano, who are prosecuting the case.

Why was Bane and Rudy there? Case had nothing to do with them. Well, except for the politics.
Perhaps you will see that this is standard verbage for a press release….note that all mentioned are agency heads. This does not mean the case had anything to do with “them,” other than members of their agencies worked on the case. If the guy is age 19 now, how old was he @ time of carjacking? Hmmmmm.
