From the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal:
Deputy State Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of a two alarm fire. The fire at 1207 Glenview Court in Churchville destroyed a 48’ X 64’ two story wood frame structure which housed multiple vehicles owned by Richard Robbins.
The 4:57 a.m. fire originated on the second floor loft area of the structure and quickly grew to a two alarm fire. Over fifty firefighters from Level, Aberdeen, Bel Air, Havre de Grace, Darlington, Aberdeen Proving Grounds and Port Deposit battled the blaze for one hour before bringing it under control.
No injuries were reported during the incident. The structure was monitored by an alarm system which alerted Mr. Robbins to contact the fire department.
Multiple antique cars, tools, collectibles and a 2002 Hummer H2 were destroyed during the blaze. The estimated loss for the building and contents is considered to be in excess of $1.5 million.
