From Harford County government:
Harford County is celebrating the 21st anniversary of National Recovery Month. Harford County Executive David R. Craig recognizes that many individuals and organizations help citizens both young and old address issues related to drug abuse and alcohol. Everyday citizens of Harford County are helped with their recovery from alcohol and drug abuse by the counselors at the Harford County Health Department, Addiction Services Unit.
In addition to treatment efforts taking place in the county, the Office of Drug Control Policy, a division within the Department of Community Services and FACE-IT (Faith Activated Community Empowering Intervention Training) work on prevention initiatives to help curtail activities related to underage drinking and prescription drug abuse.
To recognize the impact that real people and real stories have on recovery and to celebrate those who work to advance treatment and prevention a county wide event to celebrate recovery will take place Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the McFaul Activity Center, 525 West MacPhail Road, Bel Air, Md. 21014 beginning at 7:00 PM.
