Harford Community College is saddened to announce that Devonte Bundley, a freshman student-athlete on the men’s basketball team, passed away Friday evening, Oct. 1. Bundley collapsed during the first day of practice. He received immediate medical attention and was transported to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. The cause of death is not known at this time. Funeral arrangements and memorial service plans are pending.
“Harford Community College is deeply saddened by this sudden, tragic loss,” Harford President Dr. Dennis Golladay said. “Although he was only at Harford for a little over a month, Devonte touched the lives of many on campus. He will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time. For those wishing to speak to someone, the College will be providing grief counseling.”
Bundley was a 2010 graduate of Harford Technical High School where he was a member of the basketball, football, wrestling and track & field teams.
All sporting events and practices have been canceled until further notice.
