Harford Financial Group’s Freeland Awarded Financial Planning Certification

Bel Air, Md., October 24, 2010  —  Adam Freeland, a financial planner with Cambridge Investment Research, through Harford Financial Group in Bel Air, has been awarded the Certified Financial Planner™ designation. The certification is presented by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.

Mr. Freeland has been with Harford Financial Group for four years. He is a registered representative through Cambridge Investment Research Advisors. He is also a Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM, a designation awarded by the College for Financial Planning. 

To receive the Certified Financial Planner™ designation, a candidate must pass a comprehensive CFP® Certification Examination and the CFP® Board’s Candidate Fitness Standards. The candidate must also agree to abide by the CFP® Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, which puts clients’ interests first, and comply with the Financial Planning Practice Standards which spell out what clients should be able to reasonably expect from the financial planning engagement.

A resident of Abingdon, Mr. Freeland is active in the community, serving on the board of directors of the Harford County Chamber of Commerce and Harford Family House.  He serves on the Citizens Advisory Board of the Y of Central Maryland’s Walter and Betty Ward Family Center and is a member of the Financial Planning Association and Gunpowder Toastmaster’s Club.
Mr. Freeland, a veteran of the United States Navy, coaches children’s recreation league sports in Bel Air. He and his family are members of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Bel Air.
